"Building for Christ in the 21st Century"
A Message from the
Pastor
Dear Members and Friends of Pilgrim:
Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ!
The
Lord has surrounded the church with the beauty of his trees with their new
leaves, and the vibrant colors of the new flowers along with the fresh
fragrance of cut grass…it is clear that it is spring time at Pilgrim.
When we speak of the season of spring, it brings to mind new life erupting
out of the death of winter. This new life of Pilgrim refers to our
worship services, but also the greatly anticipated features to our present
building. We recognize that as a congregation we are growing, maturing
in number and as we grow we must take care of each other. Therefore,
the first of four phases will provide:
a.
an elevator that will provide you access
to all levels of the church
b.
handicap accessible restrooms on all
public levels
c.
one additional classroom on each level
By making these additions to our present
worship center, we will become more hospitable to those who would love to
worship at Pilgrim, but are physically unable to navigate such numerous
stairs. Now when our members and friends arrive, they will have an
outstanding worship experience along with the ease of access to all public
areas of the church and comfortable rooms that will meet their spiritual and
physical needs.
We must make this vision a reality. It’s
not difficult; it only requires that we consistently work together for the
betterment of the entire congregation. Keep in mind, we may have a
reasonable portion of health and strength, but a day is coming, when we will
no longer be able to negotiate the stairs or we will need the additional
support and security of handicap facilities. As we prepare for our
tomorrow, we are taking care of others today.
God’s best to you all, there is victory ahead.
Every blessing upon you. I am,
In Him,
Rev. Charles L. Gill, Jr. Senior Pastor
