Rev. Robert Thomas Hickman

Rev. Robert Thomas Hickman
1863 - 1886

Rev. Robert T. Hickman set the tone for the future development and growth of Pilgrim Baptist Church.  In addition to organizing what is Minnesota’s oldest and largest predominantly Black Baptist Church, Rev. Hickman used the authority of the church to set up two mission churches, Zion Baptist in Minneapolis and another in Hastings.  The Sunday School, designed to indoctrinate, also thrived under his ministry.
