Background

The Women’s Ministry was organized in 1926 as the Women’s Mission.  Mrs. Annie O.  Jordan organized the Women’s Mission and served as its first President.  The Ministry has grown over the years.  However, its purpose and focus have remained unchanged.  The Ministry’s dedicated women use their spiritual gifts to reach out to individuals, families and the community through sacrificial, spiritual and sincere works and deeds.  We strive to be an extension of God’s love by ministering to the church, families and the communities in which we live.  It is our goal for others to see God in each of us.

The Women's Ministry meets on the fourth Saturday of each month in Fellowship Hall.  Breakfast and fellowship begins at 8:00 a.m. and our business meeting begins at 8:30 a.m.  All women eighteen years and older are encouraged to participate.  We prayerfully study, live, and walk the word of God.  In order to remain viable in the future, the Women’s Ministry encourages the participation of more of the church’s young women.  We look forward to having the young and the mature women of the church working together.  We are currently in the planning stages for this year’s exciting programs and projects as well as fun-filled fellowship activities.

Our ministry is affiliated with the Minnesota State Baptist Women’s auxiliary.  A group of our members attended very informative sessions throughout January 2006.  The theme of the meetings was “Recall Our Purpose, Revive Our Skills and Renew Our Commitment”.  We came away with renewed focus and commitment.

As we look forward to 2006, we thank God for giving us the courage, energy and desire to be a part of this ministry.  We also thank God for two of our most dedicated members who went to be with Him in 2005.  Mrs. Irma Sims and Mrs. Ludie Thomas were two who served tirelessly.

MISSION STATEMENT
"To use our spiritual gifts to spread the gospel through services and ministries"

MINISTRY OVERVIEW
Christianity and Christian mission requires nothing less than the giving of self in unselfish and sacrificial service.  It is the task of the congregation to instruct, enlighten, inform, inspire, enlist, and encourage every member to do his/her best, live his/her best, and give his/her best for the sake of the master's mission.  With this in mind, there is a member for every Women's Ministries task.

MINISTRY GOALS
Our goal is to serve sacrificially, spiritually and sincerely.  Also, to study and live the word of God.  As a ministry we are striving to do our part in making our church a mission church.  We have recruited many women with many talents and encouraged them to use their spiritual gifts to further God's Kingdom here on earth.  We refer to James 2:14-17 to convey this message.
